Bio of Dr. Jenna Valeriani:

Dr. Jenna Valleriani is currently the Senior Manager, Social Responsibility for the Ontario Cannabis Store – the Crown corporation that manages the online retail and wholesale distribution of recreational cannabis throughout Ontario, Canada. In this role, she leads enterprise-wide social impact and education work across three pillars: environmental sustainability, fostering a more diverse and inclusive Ontario sector, and cannabis education & responsible use. Previous to this, she was Director of Social Impact & Advocacy at Canopy Growth. In this role, she led strategic social purpose activities related to social justice, patient advocacy and responsible use, and worked to put into action purpose-driven partnerships, establishing over 25 partnerships across both Canada and the US. She has over 15 years of experience in the cannabis space – including over 10 years spent as an academic researcher and policy expert, with research that looks at instrumental use of cannabis among people who use drugs and substitution programs in Vancouver, as well as illicit and legal players in the emerging cannabis commercial market in Canada. She has testified as an expert witness at the Senate of Canada and have participated in discussions internationally on cannabis including invitations to collaborate with governments on cannabis policy across Canada, the U.S., Antigua & Barbuda, and Mexico.
